Peter Heuss, P. Eng.

Peter is a Mechanical Engineer with over 35 years of experience. He is a University of Waterloo alumnus, who has had a diverse career across various industries. He has worked in roles from Project Manager, and Engineering Manager, to Chief Operations Officer. He has designed and installed large automation systems, designed custom electronic test equipment, managed service departments, as well as being a designer and project manager for packaging systems, industrial HVAC, pharmaceutical production, and power generation. Peter loves building something new from scratch, taking a mere concept and developing it to where it can be mass produced and building out the infrastructure to accomplish it all.
In 2013 Peter joined University of Waterloo’s Velocity to start the Velocity Foundry, an incubator specifically for hardware start-ups and spent several years helping start-ups figure out how to accomplish their dreams. Peter takes his love of mentoring and combine it with his Engineering and Operations experience to not only help teams do the work but to guide them on how to build their company to deliver and support their products.
